Nature butterfly creation

Deborah's Butterfly Creation

I decided to make a butterfly because recently I've seen a lot of
pretty butterflies around my house, playgrounds and more.
I know lots of children love butterflies which is why I chose to create this insect,
It doesn't look as nice because these leaves were leaves that were here in my
backyard for quite a time now.
Here are the materials
- 4 Green leaves
-2 Sunflowers

  2. Kia Ora Deborah,

My name is Shannon, and I’m from the Summer Learning Journey.

You’ve done a fantastic job on your insect. Your butterfly looks amazing, and I like how you’ve used the two flowers for the antennae. I also really like how you’ve explained why you chose to create a butterfly. What would your creation be called?

I love butterflies, they’re my favourite insect. I live in Dunedin and we have a butterfly exhibit at the museum here. It’s in a super warm room and there’s a waterfall through the middle. The butterflies all flutter round freely, and eat from all the flowers growing in there. It’s amazing. I once even had a butterfly land on me! What’s your favourite insect?

    Happy blogging!

    Ka kite anō,
    Shannon (SLJ)

    1. Kia ora Shannon, Thank you for a nice comment, My favourite insect is a butterfly, I think butterflies are beautiful in all that they do. My creation is called papilio blumei because my creation is green and so is my creations name. Thank you for your amazing and helpful comment once again.

    2. Kia ora Deborah,

My favourite butterflies are monarch butterflies, but the papilio blumei is stunning! Have you seen one before? Perhaps you could add that into your post, and maybe include a picture of what a papilio blumei looks like so your readers know how accurate your butterfly is!

      Have a great day!

  3. Hi Deborah,

I really like your butterfly that you made - it looks really pretty. I like how you used green for the wings as it would mean that it would be camouflaged easily in a garden. It could be cool if you found something to add some patterns on the wings - even some pebbles!

    Great work,

  5. Hi Deborah,

My name is Sakshi and I am a year 8 student in Panmure Bridge School. I saw this blog post while scrolling through your blog. It is amazing! Me and my friends often visit your blog as you complete all the activities and have been an active blogger. I have also completed this activity and have posted this on my blog as well! Same as you, I have made a butterfly.

Wow! Your art looks amazing! The thing I liked the most about this activity is that you have kept it simple as in mostly "simple and decent is the best". I also liked that you have mentioned what you have done and the materials you used in the blurb. Next time try to add some interesting facts in the blurb about your insect. What did you find tricky or hard in this task and why?

    Keep up the great work!
I am looking forward to see your other blog posts as well

  6. Kia ora Deborah,

I'm Whaea Vicki who created this activity for the Summer Learning Journey. I'm glad to see you enjoyed it. I thought it would be a good time of year to create insect arts as there are lots of flowers blooming in my garden at the moment. I haven't seen any butterflies here yet - maybe they will come later in the summer.
Do you have many different types of butterflies where you live or just one or two? We mostly just have monarch butterflies here.
