Cooking - Technology

 Kia Ora Bloggers,

Today my class and I went to tech as usual, went to our groups and completed the tasks that needed to be completed. We made vegetable curry with lentils, green beans, spinach, chicken breast, carrot, onion,  garlic and curry paste.

Instructions :

Dice your onions, thinly cut the carrots, cut the stalk off the spinach and cut thinly after that thinly cut the chicken breast into bite sizes.

Prepare your pan to 1/2 degree, add 1 1/2 oil then add your onions into the pan.

Once the onions are nice and brown, add your chicken breast onto the pan as well as the garlic then let it fry.

After its fried or close, count in the lentils, green beans, spinach and carrots stir for 10-12 minutes then allow it to set.

Next, add in the curry paste and mix once you've mixed it let it settle for 15-20 minutes check on your food just in case it gets over cooked then take it off the pan onto a plate and enjoy :) !

Don't forget to comment !                                                                                                                                Thank you :)

Matariki Art

My class and I had to create a matariki art to present to our school about. Matariki is 'New Year' in Maori and is indeed very important to the Maori culture. Matariki has 9 stars, Waipuna-a-rangi, Ururangi, Matariki, Tupu-a-rangi, Tupu-a-nuku, Waiti, Waita, Pohutukawa and Hiwa-ite-rangi. As a 'newbeeie' to Matariki, I'm very interested in knowing the 9 stars and their meaning.

Our teacher made 4 activities we had to choose from, the whare made with ice block sticks with stars surrounding it, the star which you draw and write meaningful words around it, Acronym about matariki and art painting silhouette. As you know I chose art because of its wonderful sunset and surrounding.

Back to my art, I'm not that creative but I loved the sunset and the silhouette that I wanted to try it so bad and so I gave it a go. It was very fun and turned out better than I imagined, there were some tricky parts like making the colour blend, trying to rub off our mistakes without making a whole and spreading the white paint everywhere. To be honest it was especially hard because we used dye instead of paint, the only colour we used paint for was white because our teacher said it'll look much better and easier.

The art I created with a few of my classmates was very outstanding and better than I expected. I can't wait to present this to the rest of my classmates as well as students around the school. I hope you also like my work and decide to leave a kind and thoughtful blog comment! Thank you :)
