Waitangi Day
The Treaty of Waitangi
3 facts about The Treaty of Waitangi
- The Treaty was signed on 6 February 1840 at Karaka Bay, Auckland. - Hone Heke & Captain William Hobson signed the Treaty first. - The Treaty was created in English then was translated in Maori.
3 different point of views:
Maori Perspective is Positive. They say that Waitangi Day brings people together as well as being filled with joy & laughter. This allows people to fellowship, socialise & acknowlege their past ancestors & chiefs who came to a conclusion to make an agreement with the British Empire.
Pakeha Perspective is Negative. Mike thinks that Waitangi Day is a waste of time and says that there is no point in celebrating. This is because it is filled with abuse, anger and ignorants. In other words, Mike also said that if he became Prime Minister that he would be tempted to flag Waitangi Day.
My Perspective is Positive. I think that Waitangi Day is not a waste of time and should be acknowleged throughout New Zealand. This is especially because New Zealand is not our land as this land was orginially owned by the people of Aotearoa. This means that students should be educated about this day & be taught more information about it.
Why is it important to learn about the Treaty? Waitangi Day should be celebrated because this is an important day for the people of Aotearoa. This should not be taken lightly as Waitangi Day was the day that Maori Chiefs & British empire came to an agreement about taking care of Aotearoa for the future generations to come.

Chop Suey - Technology
Today my group & I made chop suey but a healthier version, to be honest I think the healthier version tasted much better! I really liked the food and enjoyed making it with my partner. Cooking teaches me different techniques, skills & teaches me to try new food and to alter my ingredients. It also teaches me the importance of cooking, cooking is not only fun but we must be careful for hazards and many more. We have one more week of cooking then we rotate, cooking has been very fun and has given me many amazing opportunities.
Thank you for viewing my blog ! Don't forget to leave a thoughtful comment !
